Our Story
Origins
Founded in Denmark in 1981, Bioflight has its roots in airborne environmental surveying, originally established as part of Bio/Consult to support environmental projects from the air.
Operations began with a Vulcanair P68 Observer, conducting aerial surveys of marine and avian life in connection with infrastructure projects, environmental studies and wildlife conservation across Denmark.
Growth and Expanded Capabilities
As demand grew, Bioflight expanded its fleet and capabilities. In 2010, the company was acquired by new owners with the ambition of developing Bioflight into a dedicated special mission aircraft operator.
Building on its strong background in environmental monitoring, Bioflight expanded into terrain mapping, infrastructure inspection and surveillance, high-definition aerial imagery and photogrammetry, supporting both government institutions and commercial clients on specialised airborne projects across Europe.
Bioflight Today
In 2022, Bioflight entered a new chapter when its CEO acquired a majority stake in the company. Drawing on extensive experience from both commercial aviation and special mission operations, the management team has continued to strengthen the company with a clear focus on safety, operational excellence and long-term partnerships.
Bioflight now operates a fleet of 10 Vulcanair P68 aircraft with a team of 30 pilots, conducting special missions across Europe year-round.
More than four decades after its first flight, Bioflight continues to build on the principles that have shaped the company since 1981: experience, reliability and uncompromising operational standards — while looking ahead with a strong focus on innovation, people and the environment.
